If you’re visiting Thailand, avoid these 👇 1️⃣ Touching someone’s head The head is considered the most sacred part of the body. Don’t casually touch someone’s head, even as a joke. 2️⃣ Being aggressive when bargaining Negotiating is normal in many places, but getting angry over a few baht is not a good look. 3️⃣ Treating temples like photo studios Cover your shoulders and knees when required, remove your shoes when asked and remember that these are places of worship. 4️⃣ Getting angry about Thai time Not everything works on the same schedule you’re used to. Getting frustrated with everyone won’t make things happen faster. 5️⃣ Ignoring traffic rules because you’re on holiday Thailand can feel chaotic, but don’t assume motorcycles, cars and pedestrians will behave exactly like they do back home. 6️⃣ Being disrespectful to service workers Being a tourist doesn’t make you more important. Treat staff with respect. 7️⃣ Complaining that everything isn’t “authentic” enough Thailand is changing. Bangkok has Michelin restaurants, luxury malls, 7-Eleven, cafés and everything in between. That’s part of modern Thailand too. 8️⃣ Assuming every Thai person speaks English Thailand is a tourist destination, but you’re still visiting THEIR country. Learning a few Thai words goes a long way. 9️⃣ Comparing everything to your home country “It’s better in Europe.” “It’s cheaper back home.” “Why don’t they do it like this?” You’re here to experience Thailand, not recreate home. 🔟 Forgetting that you’re a guest Thailand is incredibly welcoming to tourists, but that doesn’t mean everything revolves around you. Learn the culture, respect the people and you’ll have a MUCH better experience here 🇹🇭 Save this before your next trip. #Thailand #ThailandTips #Bangkok #ThailandTravel #visitthailand
