If I could do my first Thailand trip again, this would be my route: 🇹🇭 1. Bangkok | 3–4 days Don’t treat Bangkok like an airport stop. Chinatown at night, local neighborhoods, markets, temples, rooftop views, street food and just getting lost in the city. Bangkok is part of the experience. ⛰️ 2. Chiang Mai | 3–4 days Completely different energy. Mountains, cafés, northern Thai food, temples and a much slower pace. I’d also use one day to get outside the city. 🌿 3. Khao Sok | 2–3 days This is one I would NOT skip. Jungle, limestone mountains and Cheow Lan Lake. Thailand is way more than beaches. 🌊 4. Krabi | 3 days Yes, Krabi is popular, but I wouldn’t spend the whole trip sitting around the busiest parts of Ao Nang. Use it as a base to explore the province and surrounding coastline. 🏝️ 5. Koh Lanta | 3–4 days If I wanted island life without choosing the most obvious option, this would be high on my list. Beaches, sunsets, scooters and a more relaxed atmosphere. 🏝️ 6. Koh Yao Noi | if I had extra time For a quieter island experience between Phuket and Krabi. This is much closer to the Thailand vibe I personally want on vacation. 🌴 7. Koh Chang and Koh Kood | especially around Dec–Feb If I had MORE time, I’d seriously consider heading east. Big, green, mountainous and still much more relaxed than some of Thailand’s most famous islands. ❌ And Phuket? I wouldn’t put it on MY first-trip itinerary. It can be amazing for the right traveler, but with limited time, there are other places I’d personally choose first. Thailand has 77 provinces. You don’t need to spend your entire first trip following the exact same Bangkok → Phuket → Phi Phi itinerary as everyone else. Or going off track and visiting less touristy places, for the first time Thai itinerary is a combination of both The best Thailand trip isn’t about seeing the most places. It’s about choosing places that actually feel different from each other. 🇹🇭 What would YOU add or remove from this route? 👀 Save this for your first Thailand trip 🇹🇭📌 #Thailand #ThailandTravel #VisitThailand #ThailandTips #travelthailand
