A lot of how men being disruptive to people around them is an extension of rape culture. The inability to see this connection means we aren't real about the realities of what creates a rapist. Most forms of sexual deviancy are taught. Sexual deviancy isn't necessarily taught through sexual act. Rape involves the denial of agency to someone. It involves overlooking their own right to personhood and humanity. It's easier to do in a sexual sense when you live that allows behaviors to do this in other ways. When you are disruptive by way of loud car, by way of spitting in front, by way of peeing on things, you are already training yourself to overlook maybe signals of discomfort and others. And actually, you may train yourself to look forward to signals of discomfort and others. And many men are subject to this training by way of the patriarchy. Very rarely are men taught to consider or even ask for consent in other avenues of life. They don't get the audacity by suddenly waking up one day and deciding to violate someone. Typically, there have been other violations of people that have gone unaddressed, mostly because people think boys will be boys. Forcing your loud music onto others, forcing others to be subject to farts, forcing others to play fight with you. These are all things that reduce your capacity to consider another person. This leads to feelings of entitlement to take over the autonomy of another person for your own pleasure. When you force yourself onto people in these ways, you're just a few locker room from forcing your body onto another in sexual ways. And this may seem extreme. However, one and two women are expected to encounter sexual violence at the hands of primarily men. While the men are standing around claiming they don't know any rapist. And to many of them, they don't. Because many men have never been taught to understand consent, consideration, and the necessity of respecting the autonomy of others, especially those that happen to be.
