Consideration is a sign of intelligence. And another reason I can't hang with people that haven't occupied a certain level of intellect is because they lack the ability to consider. Consideration is actually something that can't necessarily be taught. It's sort of an externality of social experience, being around others, and also in selflessness. There are so many people that will walk this earth and only think about themselves, because that is a baseline level of intellect. To be able to consider yourself and to be in control of yourself is the beginner level. For example, a baby probably isn't worried about filling your bowl before theirs. They just know when they're hungry, and they'll cry whenever, even if it's an inconsiderate moment. Now, many people never grow out of this baby stage. They can never read a room, they never stop to consider others before taking an action. This is because their emotional intelligence, their level of maturity, their ability to read social cues has not developed past that point. And no, this has nothing to do with autism or things like that. In fact, many autistic people are the most considerate because they pick up on things that neurotypical people typically ignore. And when you're consistently considerate, it's something that sort of happens naturally for you. Which is why it is a robbery to yourself when you notice somebody is inconsiderate and you continue to be around them. This is not a skill that you alone can cultivate. And at this point in our lives, people are adults and you can see exactly the type of life somebody has been living by the skills that they lack. If somebody has been continuously inconsiderate, they won't have the ability to consider you even as an adult. This isn't a sign to try harder, this is a sign that you may be around an idiot.
