I don't get why y'all are confused as to why kids don't wanna learn. And it's because when you are intelligent in society, you learn very early on. Being dumb gets you catered to. For example, the whole class will stop and slow down for that kid that's falling behind, rather than adjusting to the pace of the kids that are able to keep up. Being dumb, not being useful, not being able to think gets a lot of labor taken off of you. You are no longer expected to contribute. In fact, when you do drag your feet, people learn to drag you along without you doing any labor. It's actually more beneficial to a lot of these students to be done. When you don't understand things, when you can't contribute, when you can weaponize your incompetence, it makes for an easier life in the grand scheme of things, as long as you have people around you to you. The longer I put off my learning, the longer I will be in environments where I'm cared for. I'm not able to leave my parents' house as soon. And even if I were to study, there's no incentive now. I could still go to college and still come out without a job and still be in my parents' house. But now I'm expected to do more because I was able to be independent. I was able to go to college. If I am dumb, I get an easier life because of it because life now becomes me being catered to rather than something being expected of me. And this has been the norm. This is kind of how schooling has always worked. Y'all have let the dumb people make the decisions, and now kids are seeing there's many benefits to being dumb and uninformed.
