New Balance totally new training shoe but who is it for? This is the all new SuperComp Rebel v1. Coming in at $200. And with a price point like that, it's a dead giveaway that this fits into the Super Trainer category. With a 40 millimeter stack height and 4 millimeter drop, super critical foam and a carbon infused plate. My men's US size 9 comes in at 209 grams. This shoe feels light and looks fast. Let's give these a run and see how they actually feel. Just got back from my run and I gotta say the SC Rebel was such a fun and unique ride. The rocker feels like it starts from the arch of my foot and puts me up on my toes. In the midfoot section, it almost feels like a trampoline with the forefoot giving much more of a road feel. But I found was the plate literally sits under the thin outsole instead of closer to the foot, which helped give a smoother transition in the strides without feeling too stiff underfoot. Only negative might be the narrower fit for some people, but I felt like it was race tuned for those speedier days. I personally don't think this shoe is a do it all shoe. All I want to do was go fast for some, it might even be a great option for race day. The shoe feels great with more road feel. The plate sits closer to the outsole and helps with transition. The only negative is the narrower fit, but it's race tuned for speed.
