First run in the New Balance SC Elite v6 👟 9km this morning, including 2km at 3:50/km to try the shoe at a faster pace. Quick recap on the spec (full breakdown in yesterday’s post): carbon fibre plate sandwiched between layers of Infinion foam, ENERGY ARC technology for propulsion, hyper translucent FANTOMFIT mesh upper, 1mm ultra-thin outsole. 190g, 8mm drop. First impressions: they feel good. A little firmer underfoot than the v5, which gives them a more aggressive feel when you pick the pace up. That extra stiffness translates into a snappy, responsive kick at faster efforts. Sizing note: my usual UK 13 wasn’t available so I went for a UK 12.5. Slight space in front of the toes but no rubbing, no hotspots, and nothing that caused any issues across the 9km. Worth knowing if you’re between sizes.
