You’re gripping the door handle reconsidering every decision that led you to this passenger seat, and they’re casually changing the song like we’re not currently traveling at a speed that requires clearance from air traffic control. Then they switch lanes so smoothly you almost forget the maneuver itself was completely unnecessary. You’re sitting there like, “Bro, can we please slow down?” and they hit you with the most terrifying sentence imaginable: “Relax, I know what I’m doing.” THAT DOESN’T HELP. 😭 And somehow you arrive perfectly fine, they park flawlessly, turn the car off, and get out like they didn’t just make you experience all five stages of grief on the interstate. Obviously, being good at controlling a car doesn’t make reckless or distracted driving safe—especially using a phone behind the wheel. Skill can’t guarantee what another driver, pedestrian, or unexpected obstacle is going to do. But we all know that one person who makes a completely normal 20-minute drive feel like you’ve accidentally purchased the premium thrill package. By the time you arrive, they’re refreshed and ready to go while you’re getting out of the passenger seat grateful to have been granted another day on Earth.
