Choose someone who

There’s a huge difference between someone who loves you privately and someone who only wants you privately. Real love shouldn’t suddenly disappear the moment other people enter the room. You deserve someone who is just as comfortable standing beside you publicly as they are holding you when nobody else is watching. Someone who introduces you proudly, includes you naturally, respects your relationship around their friends, and never makes you feel like their affection for you is something that needs to be hidden. Of course, not everyone is naturally expressive or wants to put their relationship all over social media, and privacy doesn’t automatically mean secrecy. But you should still feel chosen. You shouldn’t have to wonder why someone becomes distant around certain people, why they act single when you’re not beside them, or why you’re only given affection behind closed doors. The right person doesn’t need an empty room to make you feel important. They can have a hundred people around them and somehow still make you feel like they’re grateful you’re the one standing beside them. Because being loved in private is beautiful, but being consistently chosen when there are other people, distractions, and opportunities around is what makes that love feel safe.
