Never go to Japan during these 4 times unless you wanna suffer. No. 1, Golden Week. It's one of the busiest holiday stretches in the entire country. Everyone travels at once, trains are jammed, prices spike for plane rides, and every attraction becomes a very crowded scene. No. 2, New Year's. In Japan, New Year's is a family affair and people just stay inside. All the shops and local restaurants will be closed, and you might not vibe with the city that you're in. No. 3, August. It's brutally hot. And it's not just the heat, the humidity makes it worse, so you'll be sweating nonstop. Honestly, I don't recommend visiting in August. Go if you have to, but just know locals are avoiding going out, too. No. 4, pollen season. If you've got allergies, all the best. Even people who've never had allergy problems before find out that they do when they arrive in Japan during this season. Bring tissues and a mask if you visit during this season. If you plan your trips properly, Japan is amazing. Follow me for more Japan travel tips.
