They offered you how much? £100,000 100,000 pounds. That is legit the craziest raise I've ever heard. Yep £100K up from £80K. That took me by surprise as well. So what are you gonna do? £10K? Okay, I'm not £80K to £100K £20,000 Yeah, I know that. Okay, good. But that's not what's gonna end up in your bank account. Moving from an £80K salary to £100K is only gonna give you an extra £11,500. Did you work that out? Okay, well firstly that entire extra £20K falls in the 40% from £50,271 to £125,140 There's more? Yeah, National Insurance. So over £50K ish you have to pay 2% you earn. That's an extra £8K in income tax and £400 insurance. Exactly turning your £20K bonus into £11,600.
