I almost stopped going back to Europe because it reminded me of a life I thought I'd still be living. Last fall, I moved back to New York City after living in Zurich. It wasn't the plan. My heart was broken, and suddenly this place I had given me so much also carried a lot of memories I wasn't ready for. So for a while, I avoided going back. But eventually, I realized something. The places that make you uncomfortable are sometimes the places that help you grow the most. The first trip back was hard, harder than I expected. But then something shifted. Instead of comparing everything to my old life, I started paying attention to the new one I was building. Every time I'm in Europe, I notice something happens. I think bigger, I'm more creative. I get outside of my routines, outside of my apartment, and that's why travel has become such a huge part of my life and why I started a travel company in the first place. I want a life that feels big, and to do that, I need to keep saying yes to things that scare me a little. Something I've realized is that how I get there matters too. I'm working with Delta on this video and flying their new nonstop routes to Sardinia, Italy. It reminded me how different a trip feels when you actually arrive ready to experience it. The experience is designed to make you feel taken care of from takeoff to touchdown, and honestly, that's what stood out to me the most. When you've just crossed an ocean, that makes a difference. I land feeling rested enough, calm enough, and ready to actually experience where I am instead of just needing a day to recover. It's funny, I thought going back to Europe would keep reminding me of what I lost. Instead, it's been showing me who I'm becoming. Sometimes the places you're most afraid to return to end up giving you exactly what you needed.
