DAY 18 | LINDSAY CLANCY TRIAL Today may have been one of the most consequential days of this trial. The defense ended its case with forensic psychiatrist Dr. Phillip Resnick, who testified that Lindsay Clancy was “clearly psychotic” on January 24, 2023. He described a command hallucination, a delusion of influence, and Lindsay’s description that she felt like a “puppet” whose actions were being controlled. Then the defense rested. And the prosecution immediately began its rebuttal case with forensic psychiatrist Dr. Avram Mack, who reached a very different conclusion…testifying that he did not believe Lindsay was psychotic and believed she retained the ability to understand and control her actions. Two forensic psychiatrists. Two very different interpretations of the same woman and the same evidence. And now we are getting incredibly close to the moment when the jury has to decide what they believe. This case has never simply been about whether Lindsay killed her children. The central question is whether she was criminally responsible at the time she did it. Today showed us exactly how fiercely that question is going to be fought until the very end. #lindsayclancy #legalnp
