So in one of my previous videos I asked which plant you guys struggle with the most and I was honestly shocked by how many of you said the Pilea peperomioides. AKA the Chinese money plant. So here's how I took mine from this... To this in 18 months. Today we're going to talk about light because chances are, your pilea wants way more light than you probably think. This will take most of the guesswork out. iPhones automatically pre-installed this app #1 thing is to figure out which directions your windows face. Knowing your window direction will help you troubleshoot your plant way faster. EAST FACING WINDOW If you have an east facing window, you should put your pilea right up against it. That's exactly what I did with this three year old pilea. Mind you, I almost annihilated her 5 times within the first year of getting her... but she's looking pretty happy right now. WEST FACING WINDOW If you have a west facing window, you can also keep your pilea right by it. Just like this one. But keep an eye on those leaves. If you start seeing signs of scorching, move it back a little. My blinds are slightly angled so they filter some of that intense afternoon sun. SOUTH FACING WINDOW For south facing windows, I'd start around 3 feet from the window and adjust it from there based on how your plant responds. NORTH FACING WINDOW For north facing windows, your pilea might survive there but if you wanted to thrive, I'd add in a grow light. And your plant will actually tell you if your light isn't working. If your leaves are scorched, that means there's too much light and you need to pull it back. If your pilea is not growing or it's getting leggy, then that means there's not enough light. I hope this helps and next time we're gonna be talking about watering.
