My go-to sourdough scoring design on an oval loaf. This is an oval loaf that has been cold proofing in my fridge for about 18 hours. I do mist with water and then sprinkle with flour. Take your baker's twine and map out four diagonal evenly spaced across the loaf. Using my U for bread, I'm gonna score wheat stalks down each of those four mapped out lines. We're gonna do a seven minute score with this. Our decorative scoring is complete at this point. Oven is preheating to 450 degrees. I do a bake most of the time. loaves at a cookie sheet on the bottom rack. We're gonna put this in our Krustic Dutch oven. I didn't do an expansion score. Set the timer for seven minutes, take it back out and here's where I'm gonna do my expansion. Make one line straight up and down in each of those spaces, including the ends. Re-cover for another 23 minutes. Bake uncovered for 20 more minutes. And this is the final result. It's perfect. Love the color. Beautiful golden bottom. Let me know it.
