Upon beginning my attempt to reorganize my entire freaking life, yesterday, I spent six hours building this desk. What are we missing? The organizing part. First, I think we should start with the large things that have been displaced and need rehoming. My sewing machine, all of my parcels for Depop, this huge thing of fabric and everything that lives in this giganticous cart. I think the parcels will be the easiest because I was planning on putting them in this handy dandy little cabinet. Let's see, please. Okay. And they're too tall. I have a feeling this is not gonna fit as many as I would like. You know, come to find out, the shelves actually make the most sense for these. Also, for context, the goal with this is to make this desk my Depop / nail / sewing area. Ha ha! Change of plans. Yes! Awesome. That's great. That is so great. Now I'm gonna move my label printer right here. Is this the best place? Yes, that's perfect. Sewing machine, I think should go up top? Will it fit? Oh no. Oh, yes. Now for all of the nail things. (I'm not even gonna explain what I'm doing right here because I'm about to take all of it down and redo it) We're on my art supplies now, the final stretch. (But in all seriousness, can we take a moment for how much I fit in here?) As you can see, there was indeed a change of plans behind me, however, I have officially finished two and a half hours later. But I'm so happy with how everything turned out. I was able to put away all the cluttery stuff. Let's do a little tour, shall we? In the top drawer, we have all of my nail stuff, which I clearly need to do very badly. This drawer is my tissue paper and my ribbons for my Depop / Vinted packaging. And then we have all of my little poly mailers organized in this little file cabinet perfectly. Down here is other nail stuff, printer paper, sketchbook, my clipboard, and then all the stuff I use to bedazzle clothes. And then in here on the top shelf, we have all of my sewing stuff that miraculously fit. Crazy, I know. And then down here we have all of my art supplies for big, huge art projects, which also miraculously fit. And then I was actually able to just use this area as decoration. I have my sewing machine, I have my little scale, I have my thermal printer for my labels. I put my cameras up here because I've been needing, like, a safer place for them, but also display, so this works perfectly. This little vase, very old headphones I have, but it matches the color scheme. Now in terms of free storage, I have this entire thing, two cabinets from my kitchen and this. This desk was such a success. I got it on Amazon (IN MY STOREFRONT). The company is called North Sky***. And I just wanna give this company a shout out real quick because the desk came in two separate (shipments) parts. We all know how Amazon customer service is. Okay, don't get me started. So I went straight to the company. I got in contact with their customer service immediately. Like, nicest lady in the world. She runs their whole customer service by herself. She gave me so much useful information, and I ended up getting my other box the next day. But I think customer service goes so far if it's good. And I just wanted to shout out this company if you need any sort of furniture or anything, they're awesome. And I love my desk. And it was affordable! Anyways, I have four more boxes of things to build, so stay tuned for the series, because we are just beginning.
