After sending a lengthy email to Groupon's CEO, general counsel, and COO, detailing my experience of how I was scammed by weekender breaks, I received a response. Now in this email I sent them, I detailed how they told me to contact Groupon for a refund, and when I tried to do so, I argued with an AI chatbot to be sent to a real person, was told I was being connected with an agent then find out said agent was still an AI chatbot. So I figured I would take my concerns to people whose pay grade matches the gravity of what I'm trying to say. This response I received, it unfortunately was not from any of the big dogs. At 4 in the morning, an email from customer support saying Dear Customer, I've just cancelled this order mystery deal gate B departure airport mystery getaway and issued a refund of $498 in Groupon credits to your account. Oh, do you now? Thank you. So I send a response email, not to that one, but to what I had sent the day before. Groupon Legal, CEO, COO usual suspects. I received notice that Groupon cancelled my $498 dollar mystery getaway order and issued Groupon credits. I explicitly requested a refund to my original payment method. I did not request or accept store credit as a resolution of this dispute. This is not buyers remorse. My dispute concerns potentially material items of the mystery getaway that I contend were not adequately disclosed, including airport randomization and additional pricing disclosures. Weekender Breaks written policy describes randomized elements as destination and trip length not departure airport. When I questioned the merchant about these disclosures and unexplained additional charges, management refused to provide answers and ultimately terminated the call after directing me to you to receive a refund. I am therefore requesting that Groupon reverse the $498 dollar credit and refund $498 to my original payment method. If Groupon refuses, please consider this notice that I reserve all rights and remedies available to me. I will pursue the appropriate formal dispute and regulatory channels regarding the transaction of the underlying disclosure concerns. I do not accept or intend (at all) to use the Groupon to use the Groupon credits as a resolution of this matter. Okay, and as I sent that email, let's hop over to Instagram for a second. This morning I received a comment from Groupon. Groupon says we're sorry if we've let you down with service. We're happy to look into this for you. Could you please send us a private message through the send message option? Or you can contact us through (support) our social media team can further assist you. Thank you. So I said hi, I saw your comment on my post. Can you help me with my refund? Thank you for reaching out to Groupon. We'd be happy to check on your refund request and assist you further. In order to assist you further, we will need some additional information. Bank name, name of deal purchased last 12 months. Full name was listed in your Groupon account. Your number, last 4 digits of the card, billing address associated with card. If purchase is not made with the card used, specify. Once we have this information, we will be able to look into the issue and provide you with resolution. Does that mean refund? Or does that mean that you will see my account and see the Groupon credits have already been given to me and you'll mark it as resolved? I don't know, but I will let you know when I find out. Let's see who responds first. Stay tuned. I am documenting this for the hundreds of people who've told me they have not gotten a refund. We're just trying to see what works here because there are way too many of us. I'll update you as soon as I have one. Goodbye.
