When I’m hiring, your resume is not the first thing I look at. I want to see proof of work. What have you actually built? What problems have you solved? Who has used your work? What impact did it create? Can you show me the results? A resume can tell me that you say you know JavaScript. Your portfolio can show me what you actually built with it. You can tell me you're a great software engineer. Show me the product. You can tell me you're good at marketing. Show me the growth. You can tell me you're a great designer. Show me the work. You can tell me you're good with AI. Show me what you've automated or built. This is why I keep telling students and aspiring tech professionals: Don't spend all your time trying to make your CV look impressive. Spend time doing work worth putting on the CV. Build. Ship. Document. Measure the impact. Make it public. Because in today's job market, proof of work can speak louder than a piece of paper.
