Always here on my kitchen island is a jar of homemade vanilla. And as you can see, she's looking pretty pitiful. So let's swap out our vanilla and make a new batch because once I use it, I just always start the next batch. I don't ever have to worry about it. And yeah, it's easy as that. So I'm gonna start with a clean jar because this one's seen better days and I probably need to clean it. So I'm gonna have me a little sink here. I'm gonna start with my clean jar, I'm gonna pour this vanilla that's old into it. This is the last jar I made in November of 2025. It's been sitting here steeping ever since. Smells very rich. Okay. This is my new jar of vanilla. Vanilla extract, obviously. Not Dale's probiotic. I'll put a label on that. This is going on the table. My old beans from this last batch that have already been steeping for almost a year. I'm gonna take those out of pure. I'm gonna make vanilla paste out of that. I'm just gonna use my same jar again to be honest. To make my next batch. All I do is get beans from vanilla bean king, or from wherever you want. And then I slit them open and then I throw them in. Sometimes I cut them in half and then I throw them in. At least mostly. And then I scrape out all the goodness from inside. The bean can come out. I also wanna say I don't measure any of this. I just do a package and then cover it. I just take our vodka, your rum, whatever you want to use. I like using Tito's. Handmade Vodka. At least 80 proof alcohol. I'm gonna cover it and then we're gonna let it steep. You just keep doing this every time you run out. You never run out. That is too slow. Let's get rid of this thing. Beans directly into your alcohol. However, I like to reuse the beans for vanilla paste afterwards. So I was just pouring my vodka over the beans. To be completely honest, I like seeing this in the pantry over that. Like this is just cuter. I don't know. So there is next year's vanilla extract. Go try this. Y'all try this.
