He’s a reluctant budgeter but he’s stayed out of his overdraft for 5 years by managing our money like this so he is onboard regardless of what his face is saying 🤣 AD budgeting with @SnoopApp it’s FREE & permanently 🔗 in my bi0 because it’s genuinely that helpful. Also just as secure as your banking apps, so totally safe too. This is how we budget & track our spending as a family Let's do this. Okay, this is how we budget our family income for September. So we have a combined household income of £4,000 a month. I've budgeted this way for five years and it seems to be working, so I'm just going to carry on doing it. Our bills always stay the same. Sometimes the app I use will spot if we could be paying less elsewhere, but for now, it's £2,300 a month. Groceries, £500. Childcare, £200. Eating out, £200. Entertainment, £200. Home renovation, £200. Transport, £750. Shopping, £50. Health & Beauty, £50. Add a category budget. Set Home & Family budget. £2,500 a month. That works out at £575 a week, £76 a day. Some useful numbers to help... Your total spend... £2,281. £219 remaining of your monthly Home & Family budget. Set Home & Family budget. Set Childcare budget. £200 a month. That works out at £46 a week, £7 a day. Some useful numbers to help... Your total spend... £75. £125 remaining of your monthly Childcare budget. Set Childcare budget. Okay, so we used childcare in the summer, but obviously with the kids going back to school, we don't need that. So I'm just going to replace that category with Christmas. Set Christmas budget. £20 a month. That works out at £4.62 a week, £0.67 a day. Some useful numbers to help... Your total spend... £12. £8 remaining of your monthly Christmas budget. Set Christmas budget. Entertainment, £200. Home-renovation, £200. Transport, £750. Shopping, £50. Health & Beauty, £50. Eating Out, £150. So I had increased for the summer holidays because obviously we were spending more with the kids off school. But again, the app will tell us our average monthly spend. So for eating out, it's like £129. So I can definitely reduce that from 200 to 150. And then for our home renovation, we are on the final push with our bathroom. So I'm going to increase that from 200 to 500. And then for our home renovation, we are on the final push with our bathroom. So I'm going to increase that from 200 to 500. That brings us to our spending limit. So then what we do is we just track our spending as the month goes on. August spend... £3,659.42. If we're getting close to those spending limits, we know that we need to cut back. But if you're trying to get on top of your money, I highly recommend the free app that I've been showing you. It's called Snoop and it's just as secure as your banking apps, so totally safe to use. Link in bio.
