£3,400 A MONTH. SOUNDS LIKE GOOD MONEY... LET'S SPEND IT

£3,400 per month. Take home. Sounds alright, doesn't it? Let's see what we can spend just on our essentials. Okay, so first of all, you've got rent. 1,388 is the average. Gone. Council tax, 200 quid. Gone. Energy, 150. Gone. Water. Fifty pounds. Some people talk about some increase in that as well. Food. I'm gonna actually put a little bit more on that based on my last numbers, purely because the amount of the food has actually gone up. So 550, I'm saying now, because the 400 just isn't cutting it anymore. So before we've done anything remotely exciting, we're at 2,338 pounds. That leaves £1,062 per month. Sounds okay, but we've not talked about broadband, we've not talked about phones, petrol, home insurance, childcare subscriptions, clothes, birthdays, Christmas, school stuff or anything going wrong. 3,400 sounds like good money, because it is actually good money. But the cost of having a completely normal life has changed. And that's why I keep saying we're not necessarily earning less. The numbers changed. So I'm curious what comes into your household each month and how much is already spoken for even before payday arrives.
