Welcome back to my series of forgotten recipes. I'm trying recipes that everyone stopped making and bringing them back to the table. This Frito Pie is a great alternative to taco night and just as easy. Brown a pound to a pound and a half of ground beef and add a packet or two of taco seasoning. While that's cooking, open a can of crescent rolls and place them in a pie dish with the point pointing towards the center. Then press and pinch the edges together so that it makes a pie crust. You may have to reposition the triangles to get it just right. Make a few holes in the bottom of the crust with a fork. And in a 375 degree oven for about 5 minutes. Let it cool. Put a couple of handfuls of Fritos to cover the bottom of the pie crust. Layer on the meat. Spread about a half a cup of sour cream on top of the meat. It's okay if it gets a little messy. Spread a can of black beans on top. And then add one to two cups of shredded cheese on top. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes until the crust is cooked through. Let it cool for just about 5 to 10 minutes before slicing. Top with all your favorite taco toppings. Another forgotten recipe remembered. What should I bring back next?
