No interview or RFE for us, so I’m definitely not complaining. 😇 I’m not gonna lie, getting my green card feels a little bittersweet. The sweet part? After waiting what felt like forever, I finally have my permanent residency. It took us about 8 months after submitting my Adjustment of Status, which felt long when I was seeing other K-1 visa applicants get theirs within 2-5 months. But looking back, I’m incredibly grateful that we didn’t have to go through an interview, an RFE, or redo my medical. We simply got the approval, and then my card showed up in our mailbox. I couldn’t have asked for an easier process. 💗 The bitter part is realizing that my green card finally gives me the opportunity to join the workforce here and start earning my own money, only to enter a job market that feels absolutely crazy right now. 🥲 My imposter syndrome has been hitting me hard, and not having found the right opportunity yet has been weighing on me more than I’d like to admit. Thankfully, my husband has been reminding me that I don’t have to rush into the first opportunity that comes along if it doesn’t feel right. I’m still learning to give myself that same grace. I am impatient to finally become a contributing part of our little team. And I can’t wait until I can spoil this man a little too. I badly need a big girl job! 😆 To my K-1 visa girlies who are green card holders now, how was your job-hunting season after getting your work authorization or green card? I’d genuinely appreciate any advice, recommendations, or leads, especially for remote opportunities. ✨ And if you’re in this season too, tell me what you’re struggling with. Let’s encourage each other through it. 🫶🏼 #couple #k1visa #usimmigration #internationalcouple #greencard
