Here's what "it's your choice" actually means. Say no, and it is a matter of time before your position is eliminated or filled by someone else. Say yes, and whoever moved you there isn't thinking about your future. They're thinking about getting you out of the old one. Once you're in, whether it holds value for you long-term is your problem now, not theirs. What to look out for: If you're staying: -watch whether your role is quietly being backfilled. -Watch whether your responsibilities have already started moving to other people. -Watch whether you've stopped getting looped into decisions you used to be part of. If you're moving: -find out who had this role before you and where they are now. -Ask someone currently in it if they'd take it again. -Compare what the job description says against what people in it actually do all day. -Find someone that got promoted out of this role Don't take their framing of "great opportunity" at face value, and don't take their word for it either. Do the research yourself. #corporatelife #highachiever #careeradvice #careergrowth #corporategirlies
