The new Xbox disc to digital feature doesn't just turn your physical games into digital versions, it can even bring back games that have been removed from the store. And this is a dream for the 360 gamers. So if you hold a physical disc of a game that's completely wiped from digital stores, like Deadpool, Marvel versus Capcom, or any game, you can just pop that disc into and it bypasses the store lock entirely. It doesn't just read the disc, it grants a full fresh digital license straight to your account. It's good. You unlock cloud streaming, PC, cross play, and full digital ownership for a game that literally doesn't exist on the digital market anymore as long as the disc license is on your console. While Playstation is sending their lawyers Sony's lawyers are arguing that it should already be obvious that Playstation digital games aren't actually owned by the people who buy them. In the lawsuit, Sony points to its Software Product Licensing Agreement, which says: "The Software is licensed to you, not sold." A player turned on his old PS3 to play Metal Gear Solid 4, but found that he could no longer access his digital games. His Playstation account was deleted after years of inactivity and all games linked to the account were no longer accessible. Purging old accounts and erasing people's libraries, Xbox is taking abandoned physical discs and turning them into permanent digital access, even for games that corporations tried to erase from history.
