over again. Here's 10 things I would either ask the wedding venue or look out while on my tour. First up, which is most important is if your date is available. So I gave each wedding venue like four to five weekend options. So it gives them kind of like a buffer of multiple weekends for you to see if that venue is even going to work for the time of year that you want to get married. Number two would be distance from home. I think this kind of brings up like a lot of different points. One, where is everyone going to stay if you are kind of close-ish? Then, are people going to be able to Uber? Is it too far for an Uber? Or are some of your guests going to have to stay sober to drive other people home? And if you don't want that for your guests, then you do have to think about another option for people to still enjoy themselves but also be responsible after their wedding. So maybe a shuttle service could be an idea. Number three, walk through the rain plan. We can't control the weather, so I think having a good rain plan is always a good option. Whether it's inside or it's a tent, I think just having some sort of rain plan is good. And if it does rain, and you only have a tent, your ceremony, your dinner, everything is going to be under this tent. So you do have to kind of walk through and pick their brain of how your rain plan is going to flow. Not just like, oh, we have a rain plan, but like, the rain plan too. So get all the ins and outs of the rain plan, the normal plan, whatever the case may be. Number four, is there enough parking? Just look around the property and see if there's enough parking for us, for our 150 guests. So you're going to have a good amount of cars there, so you need to see if there is either parking or if you're going to have to have a shuttle service maybe from somewhere off property that they can park and then have the shuttle come and drive your guests. So you don't have to worry about that. Number five, is there enough restrooms? No one wants to wait in line. You might think one or two stalls is okay, but if you're having a big wedding, then your guests aren't going to want to stay in line. So maybe a restroom trailer could be a good idea to add on to the property somewhere. Number six, required vendors? I feel like this comes up kind of naturally in wedding venue tours. If it's if you have to use certain vendors or not. But definitely ask if you have to use certain vendors. For example, I went on one tour and since our guest count was over 150, we were required to have a tent. So just ask things like that. Don't feel like you're annoying because you have to dig everything out of them. You have to ask questions before you sign your contract. Number seven, food or beverage minimum? I didn't think about this one when I was on a lot of my tours until one of the last tours I went on. And they brought this up of telling the venue I was expecting less guests than I was thinking. So my contract said I was going to have 150 guests, but I only had 130 come. So you're going to have to be responsible of paying for the 20 people that didn't show up. So it's better to always add on and then take away because you might have to have the food and beverage minimum that you signed before. Number eight, where will rehearsal happen? I didn't think of this one when I was on a lot of my tours until one of the last tours I went on. And they said that I couldn't do my rehearsal at the actual area where I was going to get married because they had a wedding the day before booked. So I don't know why I didn't think of that. I just thought you just automatically had your rehearsal there. But you're going to have to be responsible of paying for the 20 people that didn't show up. So it's better to always add on and then take away because you might have to have the food and beverage minimum that you signed before. Number nine, when can you arrive on property day of? For me, I'm thinking of having a bridesmaids along with both moms, myself, we're easily at 11 people, and 11 girls getting ready morning of. So it's going to take some time. So if your time slot to come on property is too close to when you're going to get ready, where's food going to be, where's your bar going to be set up, when's your dance floor? Definitely just ask when you're allowed to be on property. Number 10, think of how your day with flow. All those things, where you're going to get ready, where you're going to walk out from getting ready to go down the aisle, where's food going to be, where's your bar going to be set up, where's your dance floor? Definitely enjoy the moment. See how pretty they are. But then lock in and be like, okay, can I picture myself here? Can I picture my day here? How's it going to lay out? All those things. But hopefully this helped. Let me know if you have any other tips for all of our newly engaged girls when they start going on their wedding venue tours. Maybe it helped you find your dream wedding venue.
