[ THINGS TO DO ] This FREE water and laser show is shooting 80 METRES into the air over the Brisbane River. Bright Nights has landed on the Brisbane River for Brisbane Festival 2026, and it is a world premiere. Floating fountains and waterscreens get cut through by a full laser show, with jets firing up to 80 metres above the water. It runs three times a night from 4 to 26 September and costs nothing to watch. THE 80 METRE RIVER SHOW 🔦 Water jets: Up to 80 metres high, pierced by lasers across the river. 🌊 The canvas: Floating fountains and waterscreens turn the river itself into the screen. 🎵 The soundtrack: An exclusive score written by Brisbane duo The Veronicas. WHERE TO WATCH IT 🎪 Festival Village: The only spot you can hear The Veronicas soundtrack, plus food trucks and drinks. 🌉 The bridges: Free views from Victoria Bridge and Neville Bonner Bridge. 🚲 North side: The Bicentennial Bikeway for the full river view from the opposite bank. GOOD TO KNOW 🚘 South Brisbane station and the Cultural Centre busway are both a 5 minute walk. 🎟️ No tickets, no booking, no entry fee. ✍🏻 Shows run 15 minutes at 6pm, 7:30pm and 8:30pm.
