[ MUST TRY ] THIS BRISBANE SMOKEHOUSE COOKS ITS BRISKET FOR 12 HOURS AND FRIES ITS CHIPS IN BEEF TALLOW 🥩 Frankie’s Smokehouse has been smoking low and slow in Woolloongabba for years, and the smell drifting across the suburb comes from one machine: a smoker the family named Frankenstein. It is Texan style barbecue done properly, walking distance from the Gabba, with a menu that is almost entirely naturally gluten free. THE BBQ 🔥 The brisket: 12 hour smoked beef brisket, served on plates and platters with coleslaw, pickles, jalapeños and house made BBQ sauce. 🍖 The beef short rib: a thick, rich, marbled rib that anchors the dinner menu. 🍟 The OG loaded fries: tallow cooked fries piled with pulled pork, brisket, cheese sauce and shallots. THE LUNCH MENU 🌭 The chilli dog: a house made 100% beef hotdog loaded with chilli con carne, mustard and diced onion, from $12. 🍔 The brisket cheeseburger: 150g of chopped brisket on a Martin potato bun with a side of fries, $25. 🍗 The mixed platter: brisket, pulled pork and three wings with the works, $59. 🌽 The cornbread: house made jalapeño cornbread with honey butter, or drizzled in hot honey. GOOD TO KNOW 🚘 Best street parking is on Reid Street or Hawthorne Street, and time limits tighten on Gabba event days. 🕐 The lunch menu runs Monday to Friday, 11.30am to 2pm, with dinner seven nights and all day dining on weekends. ✍🏻 The meats are seasoned with just salt and pepper, so nearly the whole menu is naturally gluten free, just flag it when ordering. 🐮 The fryers run on beef tallow rendered from the brisket trim, so the kitchen runs zero waste. 📍 Frankie’s Smokehouse is located at 719 Stanley Street, Woolloongabba Who are you taking with you?
