[ THINGS TO DO ] A $2.65 MILLION DINOSAUR PLAYGROUND JUST 30 MINUTES SOUTH OF BRISBANE IS COMPLETELY FREE TO VISIT Riverdale Park in Meadowbrook is home to a $2.65 million dinosaur themed playground, and every bit of it is free. The upgrade turned a quiet riverside park into a full prehistoric adventure, with life sized dinosaurs to climb, a fossil dig pit, and eggs and baby dinos hidden all through the grounds. The dinosaur theme was chosen by a Year 9 class from a nearby high school, who were invited to be Councillors for a Day. Sitting on 10 hectares along the Logan River, it is an easy half day out for families, just over 30 minutes from the city. THE DINOSAUR PLAYGROUND 🦕 Climb on: life sized dinosaurs, including one you crawl through the mouth of and slide down the tail 🦴 Dig it up: a fossil dig pit and a partial dinosaur skeleton to uncover 🥚 Go hunting: dinosaur eggs, footprints and baby dinos scattered throughout MORE THAN A PLAYGROUND 🛝 Play tower: tunnel slides, recessed trampolines, a climbing net and a pterodactyl swing set 🤸 Get moving: a parkour circuit and two outdoor gyms for older kids and adults 🌳 The grounds: 10 hectares along the Logan River with open lawns, a duck pond and walking tracks 🔥 Set up camp: free barbecues, shade sails and picnic shelters GOOD TO KNOW 🚘 Free parking on site at the end of Armstrong Road, Meadowbrook 🎟️ Free entry, no bookings, open daily ✍🏻 Go early on weekends and school holidays as it fills up fast ☔️ Pack hats, sunscreen and water, shade is limited around the play structures in the middle of the day 📍 Riverdale Park is located at the end of Armstrong Road, Meadowbrook Repost to share the love 🫶🏻
