[ THINGS TO DO ] MASSIVE LAVENDER FARM JUST OVER AN HOUR FROM BRISBANE 💜 Kooroomba Vineyard and Lavender Farm sits on a six-hectare vineyard in the Fassifern Valley at Mount Alford, and right now the lavender is in full winter bloom. Queensland lavender flowers through the cooler months, roughly June to August, so this is the window to catch the rows at their purple best. Pair it with a cellar door and a restaurant that turns local produce into a proper long lunch, and you have one of the easiest country escapes from the city. THE LAVENDER FIELDS 💜 In bloom now: Queensland lavender flowers through the cooler months, roughly June to August, and the fields are out right now. 🍇 Six-hectare vineyard: The lavender runs alongside a working vineyard, so there is colour in the foreground whatever the season. 🏔️ Scenic Rim views: The rows lead your eye straight to the mountains, with the Fassifern Valley wrapped around you. WINE SCONES AND THE FARM SHOP 🍷 Cellar door tastings: Try three Kooroomba wines for $10 or the full range for $15, no booking needed, with a discount on any bottles you buy afterwards. 🥮 Lavender scones: The undercover terrace is walk-in and pet friendly, currently serving warm lavender scones and a range of muffins. 🦘 Wild kangaroos: Roos are often out across the farm, so keep your camera ready as you wander. GOOD TO KNOW 🚘 It is at Mount Alford in the Scenic Rim, just over an hour's drive from Brisbane. 🕙 Open Wednesday to Sunday from 10am, closed Monday and Tuesday. Book ahead for the restaurant, while the terrace and its lavender scones are walk-in and dog friendly. 📅 Some dates close to the public for private weddings, so it is worth checking before you drive out. 📍 Kooroomba Vineyard and Lavender Farm, 168 FM Bells Road, Mount Alford Who are you taking with you?
