Call to action

Original caption

These behaviors can look rough, impulsive, or like your child is using “too much” force. But sometimes their body may be looking for more proprioceptive input. Proprioception is the sensory information the brain gets from the muscles and joints. Think pushing, crashing, climbing, stomping, squeezing, and rough play. The goal isn’t just to stop the behavior. It’s to recognize the pattern and give their body safer ways to get the input it may be seeking.
