As an OT and mom raising two boys with ADHD, including a sensory seeker, I have learned that the meltdown is rarely the first sign. Watch for sudden changes from your child’s normal behavior. When several signs appear together, use fewer words, lower demands, reduce stimulation, and offer movement or heavy work. Support regulation before the behavior escalates.
