I'm going to give you an no bullshit walk through on how to actually clear up your keratosis pilaris. I have dealt with KP since a child and this is the best my arms have ever looked. It took me until I was 25 to find products that actually work on clearing up KP. And the key is ditching your physical exfoliants. Now should they be incorporated every so often? Yes, to get rid of that top layer. But what's actually going to get rid of the buildup of keratin is chemical exfoliants. Because when you cause physical abrasions to the skin surface, what your skin does as a defense mechanism is send keratin to the surface, literally causing a buildup of keratin where you already have a buildup of keratin. Chemical exfoliants do not cause that same reaction. So chemical exfoliants are a far more superior treatment for treating keratosis pilaris. I like to use a high concentration chemical exfoliant body mask once to two times per week. And then moisturizing is key. You want to help heal your skin barrier with a non-comedogenic lotion. This is what is actually going to work on clearing up and managing your keratosis pilaris. It takes time, consistency and patience. It's not a one-time fix. It takes a good routine. I think that's where most people mess up because your skin is an organ, it regenerates all the time. You need to be maintaining a good routine with chemical exfoliants and non-comedogenic lotions.
