Over the last three years

Over the last three years I have slowly converted our front yard into a native pollinator garden. And now the time has come to finally make walkways. I started off with round tree stumps that we got from our backyard. Then I thought about pavers, but honestly neither of them were exactly what I wanted. And then I saw a design for homemade cobblestone pathways online and I decided to give it a try last weekend. Now, as I was doing this though, I shared it online and some people had a thought. When I originally shared that project though, a lot of people recommended this in the comments. And here's two reasons why we're not gonna be using those. As I built these garden beds in different stages over the last three years, I did not make any of the pathways the exact same width or the same dimension. There's no right angles here. Everything is very natural to the space that it's in because nature isn't perfect and neither am I. So there's nothing easy, breezy, beautiful about this. Second, milk jugs are free. We drink milk anyway, I have three children and we go through milk jugs like crazy. I also have a best friend who works in a daycare center where they go through four jugs of milk a day. I can get milk jugs for free from anywhere. And it doesn't matter if they break, it doesn't matter if they crack, it doesn't matter if I lose one of them because I can simply reuse and recycle it. It's not a problem. Whereas those molds are about $35 depending on where you're looking at, per piece. And again, unless I want to take a million hours to do this, then I'm gonna need several of those molds because you have to remember that you have to let things dry for at least an hour usually not two to three before you take the molds off. So like, think about how long it would take if I was using one mold at a time. I don't want to invest hundreds of dollars into something that I already have in my trash can and I can just reuse and recycle. So that's what we're doing right now and we're gonna see. I haven't committed to doing the entire cobblestone path in my garden yet. What do you think? Should I?
