The best mentorship in construction looks like this... Foreman: (Literally) WHAT KIND OF A MAN CRIES AFTER ONLY 15 MINUTES OF YELLING Foreman: ERIC, WORK IS WORK. Foreman: YOU DON'T SHOW UP LATE. Foreman: YOU DON'T MAKE EXCUSES. Foreman: AND YOU DON'T NOT WORK. Foreman: IF IT WASN'T WORK, THEY WOULDN'T CALL IT WORK. Foreman: "SUPER WONDERFUL CRAZY FUN TIME OR "SKIP-A-DEE-DOO. Foreman: OH, GEEZ, WHY IN THE HELL AM I EVEN TALKING TO YOU? Apprentice: WHY DOES HE HAVE TO BE SUCH A HARD-ASS ALL THE TIME? PM: THAT'S HOW HE EXPRESSES HIMSELF. PM: THAT'S HOW HE'S ALWAYS EXPRESSED HIMSELF PM: YOUR FATHER YELLS AT YOU BECAUSE HE CARES YEAH. LISTEN, IF I'VE SAID A THOUSAND TIMES. IF SOMEBODY YELLS AT YOU OR MAKES FUN OF YOU IN CONSTRUCTION, IT PROBABLY MEANS THEY CARE. IT'S WHEN THEY'RE SILENT, THEY DON'T AT ALL YOU. THAT'S WHEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. THE OLDER GUYS YOUR SUPERIORS TALK THIS IS JUST A LOVE LANGUAGE. DON'T TAKE OFFENSE, DON'T TAKE DO BETTER.
