Time horizon collapse. One 3 PM appointment and the morning is already gone. Nothing gets started because something is scheduled. The email stays in drafts, the laundry stays in the machine, the actual work sits there while you check the clock every eleven minutes waiting on a thing that takes twenty. Russell Barkley describes it as temporal myopia. The window shrinks until anything past the near edge of the day reads as not now, and not now reads as not real. A typical adult plans eight to twelve weeks out. Plenty of ADHD adults are working with a week, sometimes a couple of days. Investors use the same phrase for a reason. A long time horizon is what lets you plan and compound. Squeeze it down to a few hours and the whole day gets spent on a single calendar entry. #invested #adhd #timehorizon #executivedysfunction #timeblindness
