Hook
I don't think that I married a monster. I think that I married the person before the monster came out. And unfortunately, I have a whole fucking story about this. So buckle up, buttercup. Grab your popcorn and a drink, cause we got a story to tell. So, back in 2019, the very beginning of this saga, I met my now ex-husband through a coworker of mine, whom they actually dated, but they dated briefly. And I had some parameters that needed to be met before I would be okay dating him. And one of those was getting my coworker's permission for this. So I did, and I got the okay. So in 2020, we started dating. Now, before this, we were friends briefly, um, but very briefly, between the time that we were friends and then we started dating. Um, almost nothing really, if you ask me. So, we started dating in 2020, like I said, and unfortunately, there were some girl-run moments, but I thought that I loved him, and so I saw potential and stayed, which is ironic because he moved in with me in my apartment, and this man's mother was washing his laundry until he was 23 and he moved in, but I digress. Let's talk about some red flags that, um, I saw, but I ignored. So, one of the main ones when we started dating is that he went to a bar with a girl that he had told me when we were friends that he was still in love with her and that she was the girl that got away. And he had still been trying to pursue her, but she had been in a relationship at the time, so nothing ever happened. Now, if you want to know something else that's a little crazy about this whole situation is post-divorce, he was still trying to go after her, and I would like to say that they're still not together, so I don't think that that's going to happen. Um, haha. So, then after that, we moved past it. I slept on the couch for a night. I decided we were going to, you know, work through it. That should have been my moment to leave. That still to this day is the moment that I wish I would have left, but here we are. Um, and then after that, really, it was just that we had been dating for so long and he didn't really seem to know anything about me. He didn't really seem to like get to know who I was as a person, which I feel like isn't that hard if you're just paying attention to your partner, but I don't think that I really ever had a partner in my situation. Um, but unfortunately, I still didn't girl run. So, I did the stupid thing and got married. Ew. So we got married in 2021. Yay. And then when we came back from my honeymoon, our honeymoon, which I paid for, BT dubs, I paid for. I found out I was pregnant. Oh, yeah. Pregnant. Hit me in the face now, why don't you? So, when I found out I was pregnant, I gave this man two options. He could stay or he could go. He chose to stay. He said, well, because we're married, I'm going to stay. Oh. Because we're married. Okay. Let that sink in, cause we're married. Yay. So, because we were married, he decided to stick around so that I could have a baby and still do it all on my own. Thank you. Thank you, man. I'm still pro men are trash, but, you know, here we are. So, unfortunately, you know, for me, I thought that, you know, getting pregnant and, you know, getting married was really going to kind of fix everything. I don't know why I thought this, but you know, kind of smooth out all the issues we had, and unfortunately for me, this was just going to expose everything that was going on behind the scenes, and this just scratches the surface. So, stick around because we've got some more parts coming. Have a great day.
