British Columbia is having an election because of Donald Trump. And I think a lot of people are pushing back on the idea, they're really angry. They don't understand why there would be an election with the NDP in power, a couple more years to go. I am going to explain to you from my perspective why I think it is a good thing and why I do think it is about Trump. Now in 2024, if you don't know anything about BC politics, we had a wild time. We had a huge host of people get elected who had never served in office before. And this was like fringe QAnon conspiracy theorist, anti-vaxxer, residential like the rest of the country thinks of BC as a very hippy dippy place. And suddenly we got a huge swath of people who took like a 44 seats, 8 seats to 44 seats overnight. Nobody seemed to give you on what happened. And I'm gonna as possible. In 1987, the BC Liberals separated from the federal Liberals. It was because there was already a right wing party in BC and anybody who wanted to be more centre or had already left the Liberal party. So they severed their branding. And for many, many decades here in BC, we had a confused voters because every time they would go to the polls for BC, really confused as to why all were conservative. And around 2023, that stopped working for the BC Liberals because so many people really hated the federal Liberals. They changed their name to BC United. Party completely collapsed and fell apart. So with that party gone, when they looked at the ballot and BC conservatives and they started the federal conservatives. Party had really, they had only run really extreme right fringe candidates, not at all associated with the federal conservatives. But people went thinking that they get rid of and they were Poilievre. And suddenly, a whole bunch probably should never have been in were holding office. And that's how we get to February 2026 when Tara Armstrong introduced the Human Rights Code Repeal Act and 37 MLAs voted in favour of it. I made a list here, you read it all. All the ones with the checkered flags are first time 2024 elected. 31 of the 37 people who voted to repeal the Human Rights had only come into power under that weird conservative sweep in 2024. And these MLA of something called the Western Alliance, British Columbia and Alberta joining together against Ottawa. Separation talk is in there. It is really scary. And for the past two years, we have been watching these chaos agents move about the province and also been under threat from Donald Trump. David Eby has been standing up to our forestry industry has been under attack. To get the province to actually move forward, we need to get rid of these people.
