In the comments under the previous video, someone wrote to me: “The dynamics of the line don’t work like that; it’s tied to the structure of the subject and perspective, not to intersections and simply where the lines are long. When it’s not random, it works much better; otherwise, it looks like an overly sharpened filter applied to the image.” The thing is, in the previous video I explained the principle behind drawing my contour. But I didn’t say anything about perspective. The video is about the dynamics of the line in my execution. And this has nothing to do with academic drawing. This is just my creative work. I have a higher education, and I know what I’m talking about! Let me explain with an example: The first chest — this is what a linear construction in perspective looks like. The second chest — this is what the object looks like in my interpretation. As you can see, in the first version, the object is shown in such a way that volume, the middle and distant planes, are felt. My version, on the other hand, is executed in a free form. Here, it’s important to understand the difference between academicism and an illustration done the way the author wants. I have 13 years of study behind me, and now I’m free to draw whatever I want and in whatever way I want. I don’t claim to be a painter. I consider myself more of an illustrator. I’m not going to teach you academic drawing, and I don’t teach how to draw properly in a free form. I’m sharing my creative work and techniques that might be useful to you. And I’ll leave all the teaching to the instructors at art schools. And lastly, I want to say thank you to everyone who supports me! It motivates me to keep making videos for you. And don’t forget to inspire and be inspired! Bye for now! #art #drawing
