Part 2 of adding Call of Duty Zombies to a thrift store painting. I already boarded up the windows and added a crawler into the foreground. Now let's add the mystery box up against the side of the cabin! I use a dark brown to sketch out the mystery box until I slowly find the details. Then I paint the cinder blocks underneath. Time to get out some yellow so we can paint that iconic mystery box glow! I want it to look like the mystery box just popped open... and coming out of the mystery box is the ray gun. For me, the ray gun was one of the best things you could get from the mystery box! My goal is to create nostalgia with this painting... Every detail was chosen for the feeling that it evokes. Next I'm adding Juggernog on the front porch. Now you could argue that all of these details would never show up right next to each other in the actual video game... but this painting is intended to be more like a collection of my favorite memories from COD Zombies... not a literal scene from the game. COD Zombies was one of my favourite games growing up. I'm trying to create a piece of art that puts butterflies in the stomachs of all of the die hard COD Zombie fans! I painted the transit bus abandoned and parked along the tree line of this property. The transit bus has always looked pretty old and rusty so I did my best to make it look even older and more abandoned. Next I'm adding Pack-a-Punch on the porch next to the Juggernog machine. For this part I had to pull out my magnifying glass to dial in every little detail. And I painted it to look like the electricity is turned on. Up in the sky above the trees I'm adding the robot from Call of Duty Zombies Origins. And next I had to add one of the explosive flaming barrels on the ground outside of the cabin. And if you look beyond the barrel... the next wave of zombies are starting to rush in. I painted some of them off in the distance barely silhouetted into this painting... and the closer they are, the more detailed they are. This creates a sense of depth that I really love for this piece! Next I painted a hellhound wandering in from the left. Floating in the grass in the foreground I painted Insta-Kill. And then over closer to the cabin I painted a nuke. If you didn't know, I actually originally painted this painting back in 2024. Prints are available on my website! I'm just recapping some of my favourite paintings while I catch up on fulfillment. Like and share for part 3!
