I ate at 75+ restaurants across the Houston area in Q3 of 2026… here are my top 5 👇 5️⃣ Shredder’s Pizza 🍕 A neighborhood pizza shop in the Heights from the same team behind Winnie’s and Johnny’s Gold Brick. The White Light/White Heat with stracciatella, honey chile crisp and pistachios was my favorite, and don’t sleep on their different ranches. 📍1777 Airline Dr, Suite A, Houston, TX 77009 4️⃣ Flor y Miel 🇩🇴 Chef Flo, James Harden’s former private chef, brings her Dominican roots and broader Latin-Caribbean influences to Houston. Get the oxtail empanada, mofongo with chicharrón de pollo and definitely finish with the tres leches. 📍4705 Inker St, Houston, TX 77007 3️⃣ Angie’s 🍕 After years of pop-ups, Chef Angelo Emiliani finally has a permanent home in the Heights, serving Neapolitan-style pizzas alongside handmade pastas. We loved the market salad and pizzas, but the leek tortelloni was one of the best dishes of the meal. 📍1002 W 11th St, Suite A, Houston, TX 77008 2️⃣ Charolais 🥩 Chef Austin Simmons’ new Woodlands restaurant is centered around his Chef & Rancher beef program and Hoof to Plate philosophy. The tuna sushi pizza, brioche-crusted salmon and massive $500 Chef’s Steak Board made this one of my most memorable meals of the quarter. 📍1900 Hughes Landing Blvd, Suite 350, The Woodlands, TX 77380 1️⃣ Camaraderie 🍝 Chef Shawn Gawle’s Heights restaurant was not only my favorite meal of Q3, but one of my top five Houston meals of the entire year. The ’nduja rolls and salt-baked celery root were excellent, but the carrot cavatelli was my favorite savory dish. 📍608 W 11th St, Houston, TX 77008 #houstonfoodspots #houstonfood #Foodie #houstontx
