What makes people see you as a leader ⠀ Ethan Evans (Ex-Amazon VP): “The list of traits are being tall and white. You don't have to like it, but it's true. Like if you look at presidential height, if you look at how many white men we've had as president, doesn't mean they're good. ⠀ It means they're true. Deep voice. We respond better to people with deep voices, which is why when I do the voice of God, I go even lower. ⠀ And so did all the actors who've ever done God. So apparently God's a baritone. Like you never see a squeaky God. ⠀ Another trick is speaking slowly. Usually pausing for emphasis makes you seem confident. And gestures, body language, it's this feeling like your trustworthy uncle. ⠀ Like that's the picture, right? The uncle who's like your dad's older brother and runs a business. He's fun, but he's really smart and he owns 2 cars and has a beautiful wife and 3 lovely children. ⠀ It's all these ape dominance tricks, like what makes the top ape in the tribe who gets the bananas. It's just the human version of those.” ⠀ For the full conversation, you can search Ethan Evans on my YouTube, Spotify or Apple Podcasts (link in bio)
