You have probably noticed that our family wears different kinds of head coverings. Today you are getting a tutorial. Let's start with the Patka. My son wears a Patka. It's a simple cloth with strings that tie up around the bun. Quick and easy. My husband wears a couple different types of head coverings, one of which is a Dastaar, commonly known as a turban. I think that they are a work of art, but honestly they take a long time to tie. They are 16 to 26 feet long, which is why he often wears a Parna instead. The Parna is great if you are going to be active for the day, like going on a hike. It's also good if you are just in a hurry and need to get out the door. They are only 6 to 9 feet long and often come in various designs. Women can also wear either of those styles, which brings me to the final category of a Chunni. This is what I am wearing here and what little Kaur is wearing as well. They are usually designed in beautiful patterns and colors to match outfits. I would love to know, which one is your favorite?
