Relatable Mars Guo is a male Bardottan podracer from the planet Phu who appears in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. He competes in the famous Boonta Eve Classic on Tatooine, racing a large but surprisingly fast podracer. During the race, Guo manages to stay near the front and reaches second place behind the aggressive racer Sebulba. Guo’s race comes to an unfortunate end when Sebulba throws a piece of debris backward, which becomes lodged in one of Guo’s engine intakes and causes his podracer to crash. Guo survives the accident, although he fails to finish the race, which is ultimately won by Anakin Skywalker. Mars Guo is also featured in Star Wars: Episode I Racer and other Star Wars material, making him a memorable minor character associated with the podracing culture of the prequel era.
