Whatnot

Why it worked

The video leverages the popular 'haul' format to showcase affordable, niche stationery items, making the Whatnot app feel like a treasure trove for collectors.

Summary

The creator unboxes several stationery items she purchased on the Whatnot app, showcasing pens and notebooks with various character themes. She highlights the low prices of the items and encourages viewers to shop on the platform.

Structure

1Introduction to the Whatnot haul
2Unboxing Hirono pens
3Unboxing Mega Space Molly notebooks
4Unboxing Skullpanda notebook
5Unboxing Hirono notebook and stickers
6Final CTA for Whatnot

Product placement

(a) Whatnot: The creator operates the app interface by shopping on it, and she explicitly recommends it for finding deals. This ACTS as the platform for the haul. Removing it would change the video as it is the source of the products and the subject of the CTA. (b) Mega Space Molly: Appears as the theme of the notebooks. Removing it would not change the video's promotional nature. (c) Skullpanda: Appears as the theme of the notebooks. Removing it would not change the video's promotional nature. (d) Hirono: Appears as the theme of the notebooks/stickers. Removing it would not change the video's promotional nature.

Got a Whatnot haul package. Let's go open it up. Let's get her open because I got some really, really cute stationary stuff. First thing I got were some really cute Hirono pens and these were, these were like $6. Such a good price and there are six different designs. There's this one. Next thing I grabbed were two little stationary notebooks and these are Mega Space Molly theme. I grabbed one for myself and one for the bestie. They're such a great deal, these were only $5 each. What a steal. Next up, a Skullpanda notebook. So pretty. I think this is the insert that goes in that. How beautiful is that? This one was $7. Again, such a great deal. And then this last one is my absolute favorite. This is a little Hirono notebook. That's what the inside of that looks like, just for taking notes. And then it came with some little stickers. That was my Whatnot haul. Remember to shop Whatnot for all the best deals. Thanks for watching.
