Apparently, Africans invented white supremacy because Europeans arrived with guns, mirrors and dynamite? 😭😂 And apparently, Africans couldn’t even fetch water from a river, let alone bring it into their homes with pipes! Franck Zanu has some explaining to do, because the historical record tells a much more complicated story. 📚 I bring out historical illustrations depicting European delegations engaging with African rulers, including the Kingdom of Kongo, alongside archaeological evidence of water infrastructure at Old Dongola in Nubia. African societies had their own political institutions, diplomatic relationships, engineering knowledge and sophisticated water systems. European technological advantages in particular fields do NOT mean Africans automatically viewed Europeans as superior, nor does one illustration prove how an entire continent behaved and viewed Europeans. We can acknowledge differences in technology without turning African history into a caricature.
