A massive five-story entertainment playground is on its way to Brooklyn. Developers are transforming the old Macy's building on Fulton Mall, which stood there since the 1880s before closing on March 23, 2025. The giant new complex is called BKX, covering 440,000 square feet across 5 levels. That's about the size of 8 football fields. But here's where it gets interesting. The studio designing the layout is the same team that did the interior and lighting design for the Las Vegas Sphere. Their plans feature a 90-foot glass atrium in the center with stacked escalators and huge LED screens you'll see right from the street. So what's actually going inside? The team is actively trying to bring in bowling, arcades and food and they're in talks with attractions connected to a major movie studio. They target delivering spaces to tenants in 2027 with the main public opening scheduled for early 2028. I'm Laurie Savino, a local realtor here in Brooklyn. Follow for more local updates like this.
