Y'all, Six Flags says it is temporarily closed nine rides across the United States after a man died and several others were injured yesterday in a roller coaster incident at the Six Flags in Georgia. And oh, my gosh, y'all, uh, one of the most horrifying parts about this story might be that the man was reportedly captured falling from the roller coaster in that souvenir photo, uh, you know that riders receive at the end of the ride. Yeah. And that. And now that's circulating on the internet. And witnesses say that they saw the man fall from Goliath, which is a 200 foot tall roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia that reaches speeds of up to 70 miles per hour. And, like I mentioned earlier, one witness told CNN that the man appeared in their ride photo. And police confirmed that the one person passed away and several others were injured. And the Cobb County Police Department's Major Crime Unit is investigating. And authorities have not yet confirmed exactly what caused the incident. But in response, Six Flags has temporarily closed the nine similar rides across six other parks as a precaution while the investigation continues. And what's crazy is this comes just two weeks after Six Flags Magic Mountain in California announced that it would permanently close its famous X2 roller coaster following an investigation that documented reports of life altering injuries and deaths associated with that ride. And the investigation included reports of two women who are suffering life threatening brain injuries after riding X2 just days apart. And to be clear, um, these are separate incidents involving different writers. And investigators have not established that the Georgia incident was caused by a mechanical failure. And it's on Six Flags. But with one person unfortunately deceased and several others injured in similar rides, now being temporarily closed nationwide, um there are understandably a lot of questions about, like, roller coaster safety and what's happening at the park in Georgia. If there are any more updates, I will be sure to tell y'all.
