Y'all ain't gonna believe this. People sold their homes, right, to purchase $120,000 tickets for a never-ending cruise back in 2024. And y'all, just two years later, the never-ending cruise has ended, leaving over I think 200 people like essentially homeless. So the Villa Vie Odyssey was marketed as a way to retire at sea and it's travelling. It said that it was going to be travelling around the world indefinitely. And some passengers, they weren't just booking a long-term vacation, which was an option. They were planning to live on this ship permanently. The company offered a endless voyage pass for $300,000 for a single cabin and half a million dollars for a double cabin. But even now, those passengers are being told you need to get off the boat. Uh, and everybody was given, I think seven hours to get off the ship in Cambodia, um, figure it out. Multiple passengers say that despite the company promising that they were gonna help them find alternative accommodation, they were essentially left stranded, um, and to figure it out themselves. And the company has said that it's because of skyrocketing fuel cost. Uh, they say expenses per cabin reached as much as $8,000 a month in parts of Asia. And it was initially, I wanna say it was 18, uh, but imagine selling your home, spending your life savings on what you believed was your like permanent retirement plan, and then being told you have seven hours to get off of the ship in a foreign country in two years. You got two years. Um, and like I said, for some of these passengers, this wasn't like a vacation ending. Like, their entire retirement situation disappeared overnight. I cannot get over. People sold their homes, y'all. That is crazy.
