Not being able to get the job you want because you were caught on camera making racist remarks doesn't ruin your life. But having a nurse who doesn't think you deserve to be there, that could actually ruin somebody's life. And if you haven't already seen the video, Ava Jendersee was a nursing student at the University of St. Thomas before she was caught on camera telling a protester on campus, I'll just show you. And since then, she has withdrawn from the university and released a statement apologizing for her actions. And this happened about a week ago, and I feel like plenty of people have already talked about what she did. But that's not what I wanna focus on. Um, I wanna talk about this apology, this statement that she released, right? Because when I read it, something didn't feel right. Uh, something felt a little bit off. So I ran it through an AI detector, and it was flagged as 100% AI. Um, I'm going to put the screen recording right here so y'all can see for yourselves. I think this just goes to show she's not sorry that she made those remarks. She's sorry that she's facing consequences for them. And I think the healthcare industry needs is somebody who treats people differently based on where they come from. Patients deserve to feel safe with the people responsible for their care. And I'm gonna be so real, I hope this follows her professionally. Um, I hope she's not able to enroll in another nursing school. Uh, because racism, it should have consequences, especially in a field where people's lives are literally in your hands. Um, and you know what this just serves as a reminder. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences.
